Westerlo Library Notes for Friday, August 7, 2015

The Board of Library Trustees of the Westerlo Public Library will meet on Monday, Aug. 10, at 7 p.m., at the library.  This is an open public meeting.

Quilting group

The library’s quilting group will meet on Saturday, Aug. 8, at 11 a.m., at the library. Members show and share techniques, gadgets, projects and ideas. You also may get help with problems or inspiration. Bring any fabric or fiber (knit, crochet, weaving, etc.) project to show. We would love to see what you can do.

Lead by Lila Hollister Smith, the group is open to all crafters who use fibers and textiles at all skill levels. The group meets the second and fourth Saturday of each month and new members are welcomed.

Summer reading program

Our 2015 Summer Reading Program began on Monday, July 6, with the theme “Every Hero Has a Story.” We have been exploring the everyday heroes that are in our own community. These unsung heroes make a difference in the lives of others every day and their stories of quiet heroism will inspire us all.

Registration is ongoing and a full calendar of events is available at the link on our website – www.westerlolibrary.org

Memorial brick

fund-raiser

Thank you to everyone who has participated in this ongoing fund-raiser for capital projects at the library. This is a great opportunity to honor your friends and family, memorialize a loved one, or promote your business or organization with a commemorative brick. Your personalized, engraved brick will be displayed in the walkway and landscaped area to be built in 2015 in front of the library.

For more information, pick up a brochure at the library, or visit www.polarengraving.com/WesterloLibrary/.
