Voorheesville Library Notes for Friday, April 3, 2015

Join us at the Voorheesville Public Library on Monday, April 6, at 2 p.m., for free-building time and Wii videogames with other Lego-maniacs. Bring a model from home to show off if you’d like. Library Lego pieces and club-member creations will be kept separate. This program is for kids in grades three to six, please register.

“The Giving Tree”

At 10:15 a.m., on Tuesday, April 7, Anita Sanchez will provide an educational and fun program that combines nature, recycling, art, and literature. Create your own door decoration from graceful pine boughs and make pinecone animals. Sip pine needle tea as we read Shel Silverstein’s “The Giving Tree,” and learn about the many gifts of the pine tree.  For students in kindergarten through grade four, please register.

Family story program

What better way to celebrate spring than with books about bunnies? Hop on over to the library on Wednesday, April 8, at 10:15 a.m., for a fun-filled morning of stories, songs, an art activity and a snack. This program is for kids in preschool through grade two, please register.

Movie matinee

On Wednesday, April 8, at 1 p.m., drop in to watch the new release about an inflatable robot named Baymax and a prodigy, Hiro Hamada. Watch as they team up with a group of friends to become a band of high-tech heros. This film is rated PG and snacks will be served.

Library trustee openings

There is one, four-year term, position and one, five-year term position open on the library’s board of trustees beginning July 1. Petition forms are available now at the library and must be returned by 5 p.m., on  April 20. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and residents of the Voorheesville Central School District.

Library closed

The library will be closed on Sunday, April 5, in observance of Easter.
