Voorheesville Library Notes for Friday, March 21, 2014

Kids in grade three through six, come celebrate the release of the newest Muppet film by crafting your own lovable muppet puppet. On March 22, at 2 p.m., you can add teeth, nose, eyes, horns, hair or whatever to your moveable puppet at the Voorheesville Public Library. Unique or look-a-like, the puppet is yours to take home.

Cookbook potluck

On Sunday, March 23, at 2 p.m., you can share your passion for cooking. The library will be hosting a Cookbook Potluck and you are invited. Do you have an old family recipe that everyone raves about? A go-to casserole you’ve come to rely on? Whatever your forte, please come and share it with us. Prepare a favorite recipe, write up a few recipe cards or just make copies at the library, and bring it all to the potluck luncheon. Registration is requested for this delectable afternoon

The Bookworm

Beginning in June, the Bookworm will be posted at www.voorheesvillelibrary.org. If you don’t have Internet access, just give us a call at 765-2791, ask for Lynn and we will put you on the mailing list. 

Spring bus trip

On Saturday, May 3, enjoy a lovely spring day in Boston and support the library at the same time.  Depart from Voorheesville Elementary School Parking Lot at 7 a.m., and arrive at the New England Aquarium around 10 a.m. Depart from the New England Aquarium 7 p.m., and arrive back at the Elementary School Parking Lot at 10 p.m. The cost of the bus is $40 for Friends’ members, and $45 for non-members. Beaded jewelry

Are you 14 or older? Looking for something fun to do? Why not stop in the library on Wednesday, April 9, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., for a beaded jewelry program. You can learn some basic beading techniques to make necklaces, bracelets and earrings. There will be a small fee of up to $3 for materials and you should call ahead at 765-2791, to register. 

Welcome spring family story time

I think we can all agree that it has been a long and cold winter!  On Saturday, April 5, at 10:15 a.m., join Miss Amy as she shares stories about warmer days, budding flowers, and all the things that spring brings.
