Student news: grads, awards, Dean's list, and GHS reunion

GUILDERLAND — The Guilderland High School Class of 1968 will hold its 45th reunion on Friday, Aug. 9, and Saturday, Aug. 10.

Friday, starting at 7 p.m., members of the classes of 1967 and 1968 are invited to a “Dutch Treat” gathering at the Inn Town Restaurant at 5180 Western Ave. in Guilderland.

On Saturday, from 5 to 10 p.m., members of the Class of 1968 and their guests will dine at the Orchard Creek Golf Course clubhouse at 6700 Dunnsville Road in Altamont. The three-entrée buffet costs $40 per person.

Ithaca College graduates

These local residents were among 1,371 students from Ithaca College who received degrees during the College's commencement ceremony held in May 2013:

Samantha Brucker, a resident of East Berne, graduated from Ithaca College's School of Humanities and Sciences with a major in Culture and Communication.

Eric Dobesh, a resident of Voorheesville, graduated from Ithaca College's School of Humanities and Sciences with a major in Writing.

Jason Sherwood, a resident of Guilderland, graduated from Ithaca College's School of Business with a major in Business Administration.

Ian Tapler, a resident of Schenectady, graduated from Ithaca College's School of Humanities and Sciences with a major in Anthropology.

Jordan Macejka, a resident of Schenectady, graduated from Ithaca College's School of Health Sciences and Human Performance with a major in Sport Management.
