ALTAMONT – The village’s own Mio Vino Wine Bar and Bistro is hosting a Farm to Table Expo at Orsini Park on Sept. 14, where visitors can meet local purveyors and enjoy free barbecue.

VOORHEESVILLE — The village board meeting this week centered on traffic issues in Voorheesville, as drivers adjust to road construction and deal with speeders.

VOORHEESVILLE —  The village board’s application for a grant to enhance the rail trail corridor that runs through the village was denied, but the board plans to go ahead with trail improvements on a smaller scale, according to Mayor Robert Conway.

“The village is… excited to celebrate our cultural heritage," said Altamont's mayor of the just-published book, Images of America: Altamont, a labor of love for a team of volunteers.

Last year? Forget it. The year before? Uh-uh. This week, with 12 hours to spare before the final deadline, my girls and I managed to enter our exhibits for the Altamont Fair using the online registration forms. Thank goodness for a fair rooted, by a router, in the 21st Century!

VOORHEESVILLE — The village board here in June approved an increase in the number of firefighters the company can have, and agreed to sign a contract to install solar panels on both the firehouse and the village’s public-works building at no cost to the village.

ALTAMONT — Pride emanates from the three female police officers who serve and protect in Altamont, through their stories, their experiences, and their public appearances.

After casting a dire future for the village if the elementary school is closed, Mayor Gaughan said the board may soon investigate costs to create a village seal to place on the broad wall of the community room.
