“These wounded birds couldn’t even balance on a tree branch,” said the woman who has been feeding vultures in her suburban neighborhood. “There was no way they could have gotten their own food.”
“There was definitely an investigation that led to these charges,” said Cecilia Walsh, a spokeswoman for the District Attorney’s Office, of the recent indictments. “The same prosecutors are handling both cases.”
Supervisor Kenneth Runion said the list of residents to be notified was put together using a global-positioning system, and the device incorrectly used the center of the project’s property as the starting point for the 1,000-foot radius, rather than the border.
