We’re grateful for Election Day bakers and buyers

To the Editor:

On Election Day, Altamont voters not only exercised their right to vote, but also took up the challenge to choose just the right baked good to enjoy at home by purchasing at the Altamont Free Library’s bake sale.

This sale is sponsored by the board of directors but is the project of Mary Heidinger and Pat Spohr. Pat and Mary have organized this event for many years; it is an anticipated tradition and we are grateful for their time and talent.

Mary and Pat called on a troupe of bakers to donate favorites that are snatched up quickly.  Some of these bakers do not even live in Altamont.  We would like to thank them.

Our thanks also go out to all who helped out during the day.  Of course, we would not have a successful sale without those who purchased or donated money at the sale and we thank them as well.  We also want to thank the village of Altamont for providing us the space to hold the sale.

The proceeds from the bake sale help the library continue to provide many services to the area and we again thank everyone for participating in any way and look forward to tempting you again next year.
