Virginia A. Diederich

WESTERLO — Virginia A. Diederich, a local radio company co-owner with a strong sense of humor, died at her home on Friday, Sept. 20, 2015, after a long battle with cancer. She was 66.

Mrs. Diederich was born in Albany in March of 1949. She married Tom Diederich in 1976; they were married for 39 years.

The couple worked together at their business, River Valley Radio, in Westerlo for 25 years. Mrs. Diederich worked with and befriended many customers and suppliers during that time.

“She enjoyed traveling, the outdoors, and, especially, the ocean,” her family wrote in a tribute.

“I am taking her ashes to the ocean, and depositing them in the ocean,” said her husband. “That was her favorite place to be.”

“As Ginny always cared about others, her last wish was for memorial contributions …to Albany Medical Center’s children’s hospital,” her family wrote.
