Learn about the Anti-Rent Wars at the Knox Museum on June 16

While the Anti-Rent Wars of 1839-1845 is barely mentioned in most history textbooks, it truly was a big deal in the Hilltowns and in the surrounding counties.

Stop by and peruse our exhibits of life in early Knox, including our tinhorn and calico Indian costume.  The Saddlemire Homestead is located at 2190 Berne-Altamont Road (Route 156) in the heart of Knox.

The Saddlemire Homestead will also be open for self-guided tours or research from noon to 2 p.m. on Wednesdays in July and August, and on Sunday, July 1, during the Pucker Street Fair.
