To the Editor:

I’m writing to express my support for Diana Straut as a candidate for the Voorheesville Central School District’s Board of Education.

For the last four years, the students and parents of this district have had the good fortune of having someone of Diana’s caliber representing them on the board. Diana is an educational consultant, and a former college professor and elementary school teacher.

Today, she works on doing program evaluations and school improvement services to enhance outcomes for students with disabilities. She has devoted her entire career to education, and has been an active parent in the school district.

Diana’s commitment to the school district and the children of Voorheesville has been exemplary, and I am proud to call her my friend.  Her kindness and compassion, keen intellect, and strong moral character make her a welcome presence in any organization, but her experience and character are especially valuable on the school board where the future of our students is at stake.

On Tuesday, I encourage the voters in the Voorheesville School District to cast their votes for Diana Straut.
