Clear off your shelves and bring unwanted books to the library

To the Editor:

The Annual Altamont Area Garage Sale Day on May 7 is fast approaching and the Altamont Free Library will once again participate.  We will not only have our annual book sale, but we will also have a garage sale as well.  Last year we had an outstanding array of books and items to offer and with your help expect to do so again this year.

Clean off those book shelves and gather those items you no longer use around the house and bring them to the library and we’ll recycle them for you to grateful shoppers.  For the book sale we will be happy to take donations of gently used books, (hardcover or paperback), children’s books, DVDs, CDs, and videos.  We cannot accept encyclopedias, textbooks, magazines, or damaged books. For the garage sale we will take used household and decorative items in good condition. We cannot accept clothing.

You may drop off books and other items at the library beginning Wednesday, May 4,  (after noon) through Friday, May 1,  at 5 p.m.  Do come back on Saturday, May 7, to find some great reads or treasures for yourself and let your family and friends know as well.

We could also use some extra hands to help either before or the day of the sale. To volunteer, please call the library at 861-7239. Thank you in advance for your donations and help, we  look forward to great day.
