Meet the BKW candidates

BERNE — The Berne-Knox-Westerlo Parent-Teacher Association will be hosting a Meet the Candidates Night on Monday, Feb. 22, at 6:30 p.m. in the secondary school library.  This is the night before the special vote, which will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 23.

There are five district residents running for the two open seats.  The individual who receives the most votes will fill the vacant seat of Vasilios Lefkaditis, which expires on June 30, 2017.  The individual who receives the second-most votes will fill the vacant seat of Earl Barcomb, which expires on June 30, 2016. Barcomb and Lefkaditis were elected to town offices in Knox and relinquished their school board seats.

The PTA is seeking input from community members as to issues they would like addressed by the candidates during this event.  Questions or concerns to pta@bkwcsd.k12.ny.us by Saturday, Feb. 20.
