Guard promotes

These local members of the New York Army National Guard have recently been promoted:

— Joshua Sanchez from Delmar, serving with the Company D, 3-142nd Aviation, is promoted to the rank of sergeant;

— James Hilton from Rensselaerville, serving with the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 27th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, is promoted to the rank of specialist; and

— David Taylor from Schenectady, serving with the 827th Engineer Company, is promoted to the rank of Private First Class.

Army National Guard promotions are based on overall performance, attitude, leadership ability, and development potential.

  • GUILDERLAND — New York Army National Guard Sgt. 1st Class Robert Lamorte II, a Guilderland resident, will head a four-man team set to compete in the Army National Guard’s annual marksmanship competition in Arkansas, from April 29 to May 3.
